Have y’all ever cooked a whole chicken before?! I’ll confess: I still have to close my eyes part of the time. 

Every now and then I notice a need to buckle back down on categorizing our expenses and really sticking to our set budget.  Part of doing that equals shoring up grocery cost, and my dear friend reminded me of a stellar hack. Grab a whole chicken (my favorite is the two pack of whole organic chickens from Costco), use the meat for 2-3 meals, and broth for another one. Between that and using up some ground beef in the freezer, this week’s groceries were way less than usual.
